V.S.Beskin "Radiopulsar Physics News"

In the last years the number of papers devoted to classical problems - theory of the magnetosphere of radio pulsars and theory of their coherent radio emission - decreased abraptly. As a result, the real progress in understanding of these key questions actually stopped, in spite of the theoretical consideration of some other physical effects such as pair creation and photon propagation in a strong magnetic field, general relativity effects as well as the theory of the pulsar wind and the theory of the pulsar high-energy emission continued rather actively. At present, there are several model-independent theoretical predictions which could clarify the main physical processes in the pulsar magnetosphere. Nevertheless, they aren't used in the interpretation of the observational data. I'm going to review the last theoretical works on radio pulsars. physics.
