X-ray sources in galaxies: active nuclei, primodal black holes or
microquasars
The last findings in observations of point-like X-ray sources in galaxies
are reported. Observations on the ROSAT, ASCA and, especially CHANDRA
make clear that AGNs are not always the most bright X-ray sources in
galaxies. A new class of objects has been discovered - the Ultraluminous
X-ray (ULX) sources, which could be as black holes of intermediate mass
(100-1000 suns), being captured by galaxies and spiralling in because of
dynamical friction, or microquasars (SS433-like stars), being orientated
"face-on". In the last case we have a unique possibility of direct
observational study of the jet-formation process in supercritical
accretion disk.
