Abstract
: Virgo is an interferometric gravitational wave
detector having Fabry-Perot optical cavities 3 km long each. It is built
by a joint venture between INFN (Italy) and CNRS(France) in the site of Cascina,
10 km from Pisa -Italy. The commissioning of the central interferometer
has been achieved with great success and before end 2002 the 3 km arms
will be completed. At beginning 2003 we will start commissioning of the complete
3km interferometer. The problems and the achievements obtained during commissioning
of the central interferometer will be presented.
