Abstract

Reflection and amplification with phase velocity exceeding the speed of light are considered for the case of rotatory motion of an axisymmetric body interacting with incident radiation with a wave of assigned multipolarity. The study is extended from superreflection on a rotating conducting cylinder to superreflection from a rotating black hole. An EM wave generator based on the phenomenon is considered. The quantum mechanical analog of the effect is identified as spontaneous production of particle pairs by a rotating body. Quantum pair production in a gravitational field governed by a Kerr metric (black hole case) is discussed.
