Abstract

This book is written principally for theoretical and observational astronomers with additional interest for other physicists desiring to get acquainted with the modern cosmology. Consideration is given to the expansion of the universe (the Hubble constant), problems of classical cosmology, elementary particles, and scalar fields in cosmology. Also discussed are baryosynthesis in the universe, the quantum creation of the universe, inflation and vacuum polarization, and the structure of the universe.
