Abstract

An integrodifferential equation is presented for the stimulated Compton scattering of photons by electrons taking account of photon production and absorption. The stability of the spherically symmetrical solution to the equation is found to depend on the small angular perturbations in the photon distribution which propagate along the frequency axis, while the main photon flux moves downward along the same axis.
