Abstract

Maxwell equations are derived for a uniformly rotating noninertial reference system. The electromagnetic field energy in the rotating reference frame may be negative, leading to electromagnetic wave amplification during reflection from the rotating absorbing body. Consideration is given to an electromagnetic wave generator whose operation is based on this effect. It is found that a rotating conducting body can also spontaneously emit photons. The intensity of this spontaneous emission is calculated.
