SELECTED RESEARCH TOPICS I) Isolated Neutron Stars and Black Holes (Period Evolution, Magnetic Field Decay, Accretion onto Isolated Neutron Stars). 1.) Accretion from the interstellar medium onto isolated neutron stars and black holes. 2.) Magnetorotational evolution of isolated neutron stars. 3.) Population synthesis of isolated neutron stars in the Galaxy. 4.) Local population of young isolated black holes and neutron stars. 5.) Origin of magnetars, relation of magnetars to regions of starformation. II) Binary Stars (Evolution of Close Binaries, Periods of Accreting Neutron Stars). 1.) Modeling the population of X-ray sources at the Galactic center: population synthesis of binary systems and spatial distribution of X-ray sources. 2.) Evolution of population of X-ray sources after the star formation burst: influence of the Initial Mass Function. 3.) Magneto-rotational evolution of neutron stars in pre-low mass X-ray binaries.
